There is no Kara Wade! There is only Donna Kohout! from You Fly, Girl
I continue to get most of my hits from people looking for Lt. Kara Wade!
Kara Wade is a fictional character, from the movie Stealth. She's billed as the first woman to fly the Stealth attack plane, the Nighthawk (and was played by Jessica Biel) This is because a mass email seems to be sent out on a periodic basis, purporting to be photos of the naval maneuvers of Valiant Sheild. And one of the photos features "Kara Wade" in the cockpit - and doesn't point out that she's a fictional character.
What I want to know is - why wasn't Donna Kohout - the real first woman to fly the Nighthawk, included instead? (Since she did so, at least two other women have also piloted this plane).
Read my interview with Donna Kohout, at:

Astronauts To Open Exhibit- The Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, Calif., is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 10 mission with an exhibition highlighting the connection between NASA's pioneering astronauts and Peanuts' barnstorming beagle.
In May 1969, Apollo 10 astronauts Gene Cernan, John Young and Thomas Stafford traveled all the way to the moon for one final checkout before the lunar landing attempt.
Because the mission required the lunar module to skim the moon's surface to within 50,000 feet and "snoop around" scouting the Apollo 11 landing site, the crew named the lunar module "Snoopy." Naturally, the Apollo command module was labeled "Charlie Brown." ...

Snowfall Snaps Wing Off Rare Vintage Plane from AVwebFlash Current Issue
Click for more photosIt outlasted the Second World War and survived 40 years on the bottom of the Pacific but a heavy snowfall has felled the last remaining Handley Page Hampden bomber. Volunteers at the Canadian Museum of Flight in Langley, British Columbia, are appealing for help to put the little-known but historically significant aircraft back together again after snow broke the left wing off the twin-engine bomber. Like many small museums, the facility has to store some of its collection outside and that's not normally a problem in the usually temperate coastal area of B.C. But this year the area has been slammed with half a dozen snowstorms and, while museum volunteers did their best to clear the snow, an especially big dump on Dec. 26 was too much for the Hampden.

Barbados Connection To Famed Tuskegee Airmen from Barbados Free Press
In 2007 I had the high honour of meeting briefly with retired Lt. Colonel Lee Archer at an airshow in the United States. Lee Archer is one of the original Tuskegee Airmen - the first black US combat pilots who flew in World War II. That was my second meeting with Lt. Colonel Archer. The first happened some ten years earlier at the world's largest fly-in in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
For all my enthusiasm about aviation and aviation history, until I read a story yesterday at Ian Bourne's blog (The Bajan Reporter), I never knew that one of the Tuskegee Airmen was from Barbados. Colonel Fitzroy "Buck" Newsum was born in Barbados and at the age of ten saw his first airplane and decided that he was going to be a pilot. ...
